Playwriting Guild

At the time of our founding, there was no space on campus that consistently provided an environment for playwrights to share their work and get feedback. As a result, [wit] has established the Playwriting Guild, an ongoing initiative that aims to create this space.

The Playwrighting Guild puts on the New Works Festival, which workshops and performs readings of new plays by Stanford students, each Spring since 2017.

The Playwriting Guild's mission is to:

Host table readings, play workshops, staged readings of original student work
Commit to a small- or full-scale production of an original piece each season
Invite professional playwrights to do workshops and exercises
Hold office hours in which editors are available to read any work brought to them
